Born and raised in Japan, soprano Shoko Iwashita is praised for her versatility in performing various different genres of music. Shoko was the 1st prize winner of the prestigious Music
Competition of Japan which has been hold for more than 70 years. Also, she had The Japanese Government Overseas Study Program for Artists in 2010.
She graduated Mannes College The New School for Music and Tokyo University of the Arts (Geidai). At Geidai, Shoko had focused on American Art Songs and gained a doctorate degree (DM). She is a
member of Tokyo Nikikai Opera Foundation and Yokohama City Opera, a voice faculty of Tokoha Junior College Music Department.
Shoko is studying with Valerie Sorel, Amy Burton and coaches with Jorge Parodi, Howard Watkins, Joshua Greene.
